The Border Regional Library Association organizes two major events through the year, the annual BRLA Conference and the Southwest Book Awards and the Library Staff and Librarian of the Year.
Annual BRLA\TLA\REFORMA Conference
Our annual conference will take place this November in partnership with the Texas Library Association and the REFORMA El Paso Chapter.
What should you know?
- Breakfast/Registration will begin at 8:00 a.m.
- The Conference will end at 1:30 p.m.
- Registration Fee is $35
Group Registration
If you would like to register a group using a purchase order, please obtain the following information from each person:
- Name
- Phone Number
- Emergency Contact Name
- Emergency Contact Phone Number
- Dietary Preferences:
- (None, Vegetarian, Vegan, Gluten-Free, Lactose Intolerant, Nut Allergy)
- Does the participant require specific aids or services to full participate in the event?
You will then mail this information to TLA@TXLA.org and let them know you are registering a group for the Fall 2026 District Meeting.

BRLA Annual Awards Banquet
Our signature black-tie evening celebrating excellence in regional library contributions and
rare collection acquisitions.
In addition, we’ll honor the Librarian of the Year, Staff Member of the Year, and Volunteer of the
Year, who have demonstrated creativity and innovation in this year full of challenges and obstacles.
Our BRLA Scholarship will be awarded to a deserving Library Science student.
